Exposing children to music, books and less TV at a young age may make them smarter?
Most kids now are completely consumed with TV and WOW on the computer all the time. I was reading that constant TV watching causes the neurons in the brain to rewire so it’s hard for kids to do critical thinking and focus ON ONE THING. Could this be why ADHD is so high and rising in America? At the same time learning new things like piano and frequent reading causes new pathways of neurons to be formed that allow them to literally be smarter and solve problems easier–especially if they are learning at a young age. Do you think as a parent if you created a “no fail environment” with things like Piano and music to be played in free time that you would ultimately have “smarter kids”? Many people here are probably thinking that’s just cruel; it is not cruel, if you create a no fail environment where the TV is nowhere to be found they will enjoy things like reading, playing instruments, and getting exercise.

and scientists say the cause for ADHD could be the lack of omega 3 during pregnancy.
btw there is no evidence if tv does any kind of damage. its only a theory.
“music to be played” and no tv? well parents are good at two things – abandoning kids (I run an orphanage) and injustice (music allowed and no tv). listening to music is no more different than watching tv. except that you are watching moving pictures on tv.
